40% OF AUSTRALIAN PROPERTIES HAVE CONDENSATION AND MOULD ISSUES

In 2016, the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) estimated that 40% of Australian houses and apartments have condensation and mould issues. Sustained condensation in buildings is linked to negative impacts on human health, amenity and structural integrity. It is estimated the annual medical costs in Australia correlated to condensation and mould could well be in the billions. Most often, the rectification costs are high, time-consuming and more stressful for homeowners than the mitigation costs.

As a qualified mould testing technician, it is our job to assist customers in identifying sources of moisture, determine the severity of mould contamination, and ultimately provide a professional opinion to mitigate the condensation and mould issues in the property.

Home Inspection Electromagnetic Radiation

In 2011, the WHO classifies radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans.

The classification was based on an increased risk for glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer, associated with wireless phone use. One study showed a 40% increased risk for gliomas for reported cell phone use of 30 minutes per day over a 10-year period.

"Given the potential consequences for public health of this classification and findings, it is important to take pragmatic measures to reduce exposure" said IARC Director Christopher Wild.
